MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONSOFFICER

Responsible to: Assistant CEO

Purpose of the Post

To develop and implement Muslim Aid’s direct mail strategy and coordinate specific campaign activities and events that effectively targets our key audiences, raisingMuslim Aid’s profile and reputation.To ensure that all campaigns actives and events are managed and coordinated to the highest possible professional standard consistent to Muslim Aid’s brand image and according to the requirement of the fundraising and communications strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. To conduct research in order to develop and implement an effective direct mail strategy for Muslim Aid.
  2. To coordinate specific campaign activities and events that effectively targets our key audiences, raising Muslim Aid’s profile and reputation.
  3. To develop, in collaboration with the Fundraising and Communication Departments, key messages for all audiences to communicate our core brand identity and charitable work.
  4. To identify, develop and implement innovative and impactful engagement opportunities, actions and approaches for targeting MA audiences – both offline and online.
  1. To be responsible for organising and coordinating Muslim Aid’scampaigns in accordance with the Fundraising and Communications plan.
  2. To work closely with the Web Coordinator to ensure all outgoing messages are consistent with the overall marketing and communication objectives.
  3. To attract consistent positive media coverage for the organisation’s workand promote greater public awareness, understanding and support for Muslim Aid.
  1. To coordinate and drive the creation of compelling and creative campaign content, material and outputs– targeted at a variety of audiences and stakeholders and that lead to action and further engagement in line with the campaign strategy.
  1. To research necessary information and tools to aid the development of campaign strategies.
  1. To work closely with colleagues to ensure the voices/stories of the beneficiaries we work with, including the UK, are part of the materials and content used to engage young people in our campaign work.
  1. To ensure consistent and new content for social media and the Muslim Aid website that drives traffic and supportfrom young people.
  1. To support the Fundraising and Communications teams with coordination of and communication to key internal and external audiences.
  1. To deliver the administrative requirements of strategy development and coordination.
  1. To support with the coordination, data collection, and self assessment stages tomonitor and evaluate the campaign’s impact.
  1. To manage and build relations with media organisations and other stakeholders by proactively seeking out and attending stakeholder, partnership and network building events.
  2. To contribute to the total effectiveness of the Fundraising and Communications Departments, communicating openly, solving problems proactively, offering creative ideas and working as a positive, engaged team member.
  3. To work closely and effectively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure effective coordination and activities in line with the campaign strategy.
  1. To contribute to the overall smooth operations of Muslim Aids Strategic framwork- through attending necessary meetings and taking part in relevant planning and activity sessions.
  1. To be aware of and operate within relevant Muslim Aid policies and approaches.
  1. Any other duties which commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.

Qualification & Training

a)Educated to a degree level in the field of Marketing or Communications or any other related field (E).

Experience

b)Strong experience in a marketing and communications role (E).

c)Solid experience in copywriting, proof reading and editing various communications channels(E).

d)Experience in developing direct mail strategy with a proven track record of increasing income through direct mail campaign activities (E)

e)Experience of developing large events and marketing campaigns: planning through to launch (E).

f)Experience of print, production and electronic material design processes and technologies (D).

g)Experience of working in the charity sector (D).
