HealthEast Care System is looking for an experienced Credentialing Coordinator.
Responsibilities of this position are:
· Process, as well as oversee the processing of, initial applications for clinical privileges and medical staff membership
· Processes temporary and additional privilege requests
· Process applications for Educational Experiences
· Demonstrate active participation in the quality improvement process
· Acts as a resource and provides guidance for credentialing department staff
· Act as administrator for the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB)
· Maintain the Delineation of Privilege Forms and Core Privilege Descriptions
· Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies (i.e., Joint Commission, CMS) in regard to credentialing while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of state statutes and laws
· Support Credentialing Director in regard to accreditation and department of health surveys and attends survey interviews
Education and Experience
· High School Diploma. CMSC or CPCS certification preferred
· Five or more years comprehensive credentialing experience in an acute care hospital setting
· Five or more years supervisory and/or managerial experience. Involvement with Joint Commission and Department of Health surveys

· Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
· Excellent customer service skills
· Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with physicians and other clinical staff members, administrators, executives, etc.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently
· Effective time management, organizational and problem solving skills
· Knowledge of health care management and environment
· Demonstrated ability to utilize specific computer software
· Demonstrated knowledge and skills in data collection, data analysis and interpreting results
· Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
· Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
· Demonstrated ability to work well as a team leader
· Strong knowledge of Joint Commission, NCQA, Centers for Medicare/Medicaid (CMS) and other accrediting agency standards
