Las Vegas Design Center Releases Top Trends of the Season
Trends Introduced During Las Vegas Market Now Available to the Public
LAS VEGAS -- Feb. 23, 2011-- On the heels of Winter Las Vegas Market, the biannual home furnishings tradeshow that attracted tens of thousands of industry retailers, buyers and interior designers, Las Vegas Design Center reveals the season’s top design trends.
These trends took center stage during the show and are now available to the public at Las VegasDesignCenter months before they hit retail floors. Top trends include design accents in the color of the year - Honeysuckle pink, natural wood furnishings and accents, unique lighting fixtures made of wood, ceramics and mercury glass, and classically elegant pieces with a contemporary twist.
Everything’s Coming Up Rosy:
Last year, Pantone’s color of the year was turquoise, the color of sea, sky and escape. In 2011, the hue of the season is Honeysuckle. A touch of this vibrant reddish-pink color will liven up any space. Introducing this color pallet is a great way to invite light into an otherwise neutral room. Safavieh and Feizy Rugs both feature this festive shade in their collection of area rugs, and it’s a perfect way to incorporate color into your room. For decorative bedding and linen accents, LVDC’s Robert Allen-Beacon Hill offers a variety of options that adds pops of this must-have shade to your kitchen and bedroom. Decorative Accents:
Accessories crafted from nature-weathered wood, ceramics finished in exciting new hues and hand-blown mercury glass dominate this season. Global Views and Postcards Home are two showrooms that offer an extensive variety of decorative accents and contemporary statement pieces suitable for a variety of design genres.
Illuminating Ideas:
Lighting designers serve up an assortment of on-trend fixtures and lamps this season. Woods with natural finishes, mercury glass and metal are employed to create bright spots in modern interiors. Dillon Wells and Palecek feature a variety of lighting options that will brighten up any space.
Traditional Redefined:
Classic silhouettes clad in unexpected patterns create this contemporary-meets-traditional trend twist. Check out French Heritage and Brownstone for decorative headboards, beautifully upholstered chairs and more. French Heritage’s use of a gorgeous blue and white flame stitch pattern on a traditional chaise is a perfect example of this fashionable blast from the past.
