Research Question: Example
CL
The rapid growth of the Hispanic population in the United States over the last fourdecades has had a direct impact on politics in the country. Topics such as undocumented immigration and immigrants’ rights have been part of the last two presidential campaigns, speeches, and debates. Political campaigns target the Hispanic population with promises of hope for a better future for their community. Politicians cannot ignore the fact that the Hispanic population now has a deciding vote as well as an influence in the political agenda. However, how is the growth of Hispanic population transforming the way politics developed in the United States? In order to answer this question, I intend to review different sources such as the United States Census Bureau, Tierra de Todos by Jorge Ramos, The Rise of the Second Generation: Changing Patterns in Hispanic Population Growth by Roberto Suro and Jeffrey S. Passel, and speeches from former President George W. Bush as well as President Barack Obama. I will also use different databases from the Suffolk Universitywebsite and printed material from the Mildred F. Sawyer Library.
