Parents,
The children may use “Studio Time” (this is time Ms. Tricia has set aside just for them and their projects) for planning, formatting, and brainstorming but the work itself is to be done at home.
Your limited involvement in planning or formatting is also fine, but this is the child’s work. You have already passed 4th grade, and do not need to repeat. If your child leaves the project until the last week, it will likely not be a work of quality.
In keeping with today’s economic situation and to help your child use more of his/her imagination, I am putting a major restriction on this project-COST. You may spend up to $2.00 and not a penny more. I want your child to look for more creative ways to complete this project than downloading pictures from the internet and buying scrapbooking materials. We as Americans tend to throw money at situations instead of using ingenuity. I am a firm believer in repurposing and the power of creative ability.
Please support this effort.
Thank you,
Ms. Melinda
