Duties

For more information about the Department’s strategic plan and outcomes view:

Manage the Branch’suranium mining rehabilitation related activities across a range of scientific disciplines and stakeholder organizations, over a decadal timescale, in accordance with the Department’s project management framework.
Coordinate the technical assessment of rehabilitation related proposals and reports.
Assist with the development of rehabilitation related communication products, including summary reports and bench-marking studies.
Liaise with other areas of the Department, other state and federal agencies, non-government organisations and industry bodies; including representing the Department on various external committees.
Assist in the provision of advice to the Minister and Departmental executive on matters related to mine rehabilitation, including risk identification and communication.
Assist with the general functions of the Supervision and Monitoring team as required, including assessments, inspections, investigations and reporting.

Selection criteria

All criteria will be assessed in relation to the candidate’s ability to perform in accordance with:

Qualifications, or significant experience, relevant to uranium mining rehabilitation; including the ability to synthesise and apply large amounts of technical information.
Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly related to complex technical projects.
Advanced communication and writing skills; including the ability to communicate complex technical information in plain English.
Demonstrated experience in the conduct of mining related environmental assessments and inspections.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and to build relationships with range of external stakeholders.
