Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Cultural Competency Training and Integration Services
The City and County of San Francisco Department of Adult and Aging Services (DAAS) is seeking an individual agency or organization to provide gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) cultural competency training and integration services. The goal is to improve functional independence and quality of life for LGBT elders and younger adults with disabilities who have been unable to access services in San Francisco.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years experience in providing LGBT cultural competency training to community service providers aiding seniors and /or adults with disabilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in outreach implementation strategies to diverse isolated LGBT seniors and adults with disabilities and advocating for the unique needs of LGBT consumers.
- Recent experience working with Senior Centers to advise on integration of LGBT senior programs.
- The respondent must be a certified vendor with the City and County of San Francisco
Anticipated Scope of Work to Include:
- Recruit, train and maintain a pool of multicultural volunteers to speak at community agencies on the needs of senior and disabled LGBT consumers
- Provide follow up and consultation to agencies after the presentations to address specific issues resulting from the presentation.
- Work with community agencies to create a cultural change in the agency that is welcoming to the LGBT community
- Provide at least one activity/workshop a month for LGBT consumers
- Provide follow up and service linkages to workshop attendees

Contents of Response Package
Submissions in reply to this RFQ must be in the form of a “response package” containing the response and all required supporting information and documents. Respondents are required to provide all information requested below. In your response, please indicate “N.A.” if the statement is not applicable to you.
Respondents must submit an original response package and five (5) complete copies (six total). All information in the response package must be presented in the following sequence:
1.Response cover letter identifying the contact person and a brief description of the services to be provided and why your organization is qualified to provide these services.
2.Provide a résumé of your experience, education, and other factors relevant to the services described in this RFQ. Be sure to include information about work similar to this project, any related completed projects, education, and training. Organizations applying should provide resumes of key staff or job descriptions/minimum requirements for key positions.
- Provide a statement, written solely by the respondent, addressing the summary of skills, resources, and experience relevant to this contract.
- Any relevant addenda which the respondent wishes to submit.
Final Submission
Response package must be received in hand by a contract manager no later than 3:00 P.M., SEPTEmber 20, 2007. no exceptions.
