Question Number / Page Number / Section Number / Questions & Answers for RFP-1507JH
14 / 3.1 / Q: The “agencies” are interested in the Montana Children’s Trust Fund Request for Proposals.
Both agencies serve and work directly with mothers and their children. We both model the Circle of Security in all that we do. The “agency” works with the Lewis & Clark Health Department to provide ongoing Circle of Security classes, taught by County staff, for its clients and the community at large. All staff and Board are trained in the Circle of Security.
In assessing our work, both agencies recognize the need for on-site child abuse and neglect prevention programming, including parent support, on an ongoing basis. We are interested in exploring the opportunity for funding through the Early Childhood Coalition. We understand that to be eligible for this funding, the Early Childhood Coalition will need to apply.
The “agency” serves women experiencing homelessness and their children. The “agency” serves victims of sexual and domestic violence and their children. We are both in a pivotal place to also help prevent, and end cycles of, child abuse and neglect.
Please let us know if we might qualify for Montana Children’s Trust Fund funding through the Early Childhood Coalition.
A: The RFP states that BB Coalitions may apply for the funds. The Coalition is welcome to subcontract or collaborate with organizations in the community to meet the outcomes of the RFP intent. The goal of contracting with the BB Community Coalitions is to assure that several different agencies are not providing the same, or similar, service in a community. Coordinating services for the benefit of families and children, and collaborating with a wide group of agencies and organizations at a community level is a foundation of the individual Community Coalitions and a focus of this RFP.
Q: The information on the website states “To be eligible for this funding, your community’s Best Beginnings Community Coalition must apply. To access the 2015-2016 RFP, please follow the link below.” Our Best Beginnings Coalition is applying, but I want to clarify that individual nonprofits can also apply on their own? Is it possible to see a list of funding recipients from previous years?
A: The intent of the RFP was to have only the local BB Coalitions apply to facilitate the strengthening of the coalitions and their collaborative work. Individual nonprofits are not eligible to apply separately from the BB coalitions. If they are a member of the coalition they would be eligible to have a voice in the application process but the scope of services and deliverables will be written, approved, and submitted by the BB coalition and signed by its coordinator. Interested parties should contact their local BB Coalition to inquire about “membership/partnership”.
A list of our current grantees can be found on our website: http://dphhs.mt.gov/childrenstrustfund under the “Projects” tab. Note that the current RFP has a different focus than our past RFP’s.
