Dear Teacher

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND CHILD CARE ACT 1991

You will appreciate that, as a responsible organization, ILH must give complete assurance to parents sending their children abroad that all families have been correctly vetted. We feel sure therefore that you will be happy, in complying with your own responsibilities, to sign the declaration below and return it to us (even though you may not normally host children under the age of 16).

The following people are not allowed to host children:

a) Anyone who has had a child removed from their care by order of a court.

b) Anyone who has been convicted of an offence against a child.

c) Anyone whose parental rights over a child have been taken over by a health board.

d) Anyone who has had an order made against him/her under the provisions of the Child Care Act 1991.

If any of these conditions apply to you, your spouse/partner, or any other member of your household, you must inform us or your Local Organiser immediately.

In order to be able to place students with you, we now ask you to sign the following declaration, which you should cut off and return to us in the envelope provided.

Thank you for your co-operation in this matter, which can only benefit all concerned.
