FEV Conferences: Experts discuss engine concepts of the future
FEV discusses Diesel electrification, future-oriented fuel solutions and more with specialist speakers
Aachen, 08.09.2014 – FEV GmbH is holding two international conferences this year in close cooperation with leading OEMs, automotive suppliers and R & D institutes. The first is the “Diesel Powertrains 3.0” conference to be held in Montabaur on 28 and 29 October. This will be followed one week later, on 4 and 5 November, by the “Advanced Fuels for Sustainable Mobility” event at the “Nürburgring” race track.
“The aim of our conference program is to discuss current challenges in mobility and pave the way for future cooperations,” explains Professor Stefan Pischinger, President and CEO of the FEV group. Further information about the conference program can be found on FEV’s new website (Click on ‘EVENTS’). Registrations should be sent to Johanna Lupczyk at the “Haus der Technik” in Essen.
Increasing shortages of resources, drastically more stringent emission limits and ever more complex powertrain systems: The global automobile industry has been faced with considerable challenges over recent years. However, conventional combustion engines have by no means served their time. As the leading development service provider, FEV will be discussing new approaches and new technologies with experts from the automotive industry.
“Diesel Powertrains 3.0” in Montabaur
The International Conference on “Diesel Powertrains 3.0” is being organized by FEV in cooperation with Audi, Daimler, Jaguar LandRover, PSA, Denso, Bosch and Delphi. In the historic setting of Schloss Montabaur, solutions will be discussed which will enable Diesel engines to comply with the stringent emission limits of below 95g CO2 / km.
“Our conference offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and to discuss both sides of future Diesel engine powertrains across the board,” explains Thomas Körfer, Head of Diesel Engines Passenger Cars at FEV. “On the basis of further development and optimization of classical Diesel engines for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, we will also focus on gradual assistance from targeted electrical traction. With Diesel engines in particular, this is an especially complex matter, which makes a joint development and discussion platform necessary.”
Keynote presentations on suitable strategies, including tailored electrification, will be given by Max Nakagawa of DENSO Int. Europe and Dr. Andreas Wiartalla of FEV Consulting.
“Advanced Fuels for Sustainable Mobility” at Nürburgring
Advanced Fuels for Sustainable Mobility: This much-discussed topic will be addressed by 22 speakers from 19 international corporate groups and institutes. At this event, which will take place at the Dorint Hotel at the Nürburgring on 4 and 5 November, FEV is being supported by BMW, BP, Daimler, MTU, Shell and Volkswagen.
“The conference focuses on the two worlds of ‘fuel production’ and ‘engine development’," is how Dr. Philipp Adomeit, Executive Engineer, Thermodynamics at FEV, explains the concept. “In this, the conference offers a platform for information exchange on new technologies and strategic development trends in all matters of mobility, alternative fuels and additives.”
Key contributions will be made by Dr. Heather D.C. Hamje of Concawe, and Dr. Tobias Lösche-ter Horst of Volkswagen AG.
The events will each be rounded off by a full supporting program and participants will have the opportunity to extend their personal network in an international context and to make valuable new contacts within the industry.
Further information on each of these events and details of registration and sponsorship opportunities can be found on the FEV website (www.fev.com) (Click on ‘EVENTS’).
