Report Title:Risk Assessment Ratings by Determinations and Opened for Services

Report Purpose:This report shows the relationship between Risk Assessment ratings (Preliminary and Final), report determinations (Indicated and Unfounded) and the decision to open CPS cases for protective and/or preventive services.Information for this report is recorded when the stage is closed.

Risk Assessment Profile is an instrument that predicts the risk of future abuse or maltreatment. For example, indicated CPS investigations with a “Very High” preliminary rating, historically, have a 71% chance of having another indicated report in the next two years. Given this predictive power, Local Departments of Social Services will want to monitor provision of services for at-risk population. This report provides a high-level overview of the correlation between risk ratings (both Preliminary and Final), investigation determinations and provision of services post-investigation to support this activity.

Prompts:The Month and Year prompt requires the user to select the month and year in which Risk Assessments were approved.

The Organization Level prompt requires the user to select the level at which the report is desired. Options are:

Agency: for a single Local Department of Social Services. You must use the agency prompt to select the LDSS.

New York City: for New York City ACS. This level is also described as “Downstate”

Statewide: for the entire state of New York

Upstate: for all LDSS’s except New York City ACS. This level is also described as “Rest of State.”

The agency prompt requires the user to select the Local Department of Social Services for which the report will be run using a pull-down list. The prompt will only work if you have selected “Agency” in the Organization Level prompt.
