This year, FPTA has put up a stall at the recently held South India Paperex from 11th Nov to 13th Nov 2016 at Chennai. Some of the important points of this event are as follows:

  • Thestall- a networking lounge, was the 2nd time, FPTA participated in South India Paperex.
  • On the back drop banner, we displayed the names of our 35 Paper Associations from various cities, showing the strength of FPTA, on all India basis.
  • We got very good response to our stall. Many stalwarts from South India like Mr Vashisht, VP Mktg, SPB, Mr Kasiviswananthan MD of SPB, Mr Mukundan General Secretary IARPMA, Mr Anil Singh of Shreyansvisited our Stall appreciated FPTA presence at South IndiaPaperex and promoting the concept of Go Green.
  • The Stall was inaugurated by FPTA’s - 2 Vice Presidents – Mr Vishnukant Rathi and Mr VenkatAnnamalai.
  • We have circulated / given a phamplet at our stall, highlighting the Go Green concept.
  • We had a meeting with Members of Indian Agro and RecycledPaper Manufacturers Association on 11thNov at the same venue, which was very fruitful. There were discussions on points of common interest like possible impact of GST, demonetisation, Price stability, impact of imports.
  • IARPMA – acknowledged and appreciated the work being done by FPTA for creating Public Awareness and promotion of Paper – as Bio-degradable, environmental friendly, sustainable and recyclable product.
  • Appreciation and thanks to my committee member Sri R Ravichandran and All the Members of MPMA for their untiring efforts in co-ordinating almost all the works related to this Stall and ensuring that it is a grand success.
  • We would also like to thank the Past Presidents of FPTA for their presence and guidance.
  • Photos / pictures of the stall and meetings, have been circulated to members through WhatsApp.

On 26th Nov 2016, we had a meeting with Mr Sanjay Singh of ITC, at Hyderabad, where in Mr Nateshan, Past Present FPTA and Convenor of Industries Committee, was also present. We had requested Mr Singh for a common agenda on Promotion of Paper, with co-ordination of IPMA, IARPMA & FPTA, so that we can use social media though a educational video or presentation, w.r.t the eco-friendly concept of Paper.

I would also like to appreciate the correspondence of Mr Abhishek Malani of Kanpur, with Vodafone wherein Mr Malani highlighted points in favour of Paper , against the advertisement of the telecom company where in the telecom player, to cut its cost and pass on the burden onto the consumer, say not to print the bills.

From the day, this committee was formed, we have been requesting all to educate various People, students, Corporates, Financial Institutions like Banks, municipal bodies and other organisations – about Paper being green. There is a misconception about Paper - that Paper is made by cutting trees. We have been doing email correspondence, sending mails with facts on how Paper is environmental friendly, sustainable, recyclable and hence bio-degradable.I have emailed to all 35 Associations, requesting them all to create awareness and promote the usage of Paper and educate people related to our Paper Trade.

This year, we are also trying to create Public Awareness -- for doing Business through us - Paper Traders. Now a days, the Mills are directly going to Consumers and vice versa. But we would like to highlight the importance of doing Business through us. Hence we have emailed to all Associations, as to why -- business should be done through Paper Traders.

We once again thank our President Mr SamjiKariaand all the members of FPTA, for their continuous support and assure of our commitment for FPTA and Paper Trade.

With best regards,

Ravi Kumar Rathi

Convenor – Public Awareness Committee

Federation of Paper Traders’ Associations of India.
