Click on SEC Reports from the blue navigation buttons at the top of the page

You are now in the Report Generator. This tool allows you to generate reports or charts based on the information that teachers entered when they took the online survey. The data you will be looking at is confidential. You will be able to compare your data to other schools, state indicators, benchmarks, and other teachers in the state that have also taken the survey.

The following clues are in an effort to have you engage in creating charts using the report generator. It is also to allow you to understand the different parts of the tool, so that you will be able to generate your charts once back in your school or district.

The “fictitious” data is based on data from the SEC 201 training session. The data was used to create the following districts and schools to use during this activity.

District: LakeWobegonSchools: Redbirds and Bluebirds

District: Hidden ValleySchools: Sunrise and Sunset

Using the chart descriptions, participants will be asked to “create” the chart matching that description. Each participant will have access to a computer with web access for this exercise. After matching the chart descriptions using the report generator, a whole group discussion will take place to discuss things to keep in mind and answer questions.
