• Last piece must be disqualified if total time exceeds 15 minutes by even the slightest amount of time (judges may let contestant finish playing, at their discretion, but the last piece must be disqualified).

• Judges have discretion to award more than one prize to the same student or to award no prize in the unlikely event that no one qualifies in certain categories.

• Prizes not already earmarked for Colorado residents may, at the discretion of the judges, be split two ways -- half for a Colorado resident and half for a non-Colorado resident.

• Music should be supplied by students with measures numbered (except for composition category, where music is still preferred but we can make allowances if no music is supplied).

• First Prize Winners generally play one selection (of the judges’ choosing) per prize won at the Winners Recital.
