BOARD OF EDUCATION
MONDAY, JANUARY 18, 2016
The meeting was called to order by Bill Chilman at 6:35 p.m. Present: Jane Finnerty, Bob Pasch, Kari Rojas,Rod Cole, Denise McBride, Ron Neyer, and Curt Gottschalk
Motion by Kari Rojas, seconded by Bob Paschto nominate Denise McBride for President of the Board. Motion to elect Denise McBride as President of the Board. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Bob Pasch, seconded by Ron Neyer to nominate Rod Cole as Vice President of the Board. Motion to elect Rod Cole as Vice President of the Board. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Ron Neyer, seconded by Bob Paschto nominate Kari Rojas as Secretary of the Board. Motion to elect Kari Rojas as Secretary of the Board. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Kari Rojas, seconded by Rod Coleto nominate Bob Pasch as Treasurer of the Board. Motion to elect Bob Pasch as Treasurer of the Board. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Kari Rojas, seconded by Ron Neyer to nominate Rod Cole as the MASB representative. Motion to elect Rod Cole as MASB representative. Motion carried 7/0.
Following is a list of committees and their members
School Improvement/Curriculum Committee: Jane Finnerty, Curt Gottschalk, and Ron Neyer
Extra Curricular Committee: Kari Rojas, Curt Gottschalk and Jane Finnerty
Building, Maintenance and Transportation Committee: Ron Neyer, Bob Pasch, and Rod Cole
Business/Finance Committee: Bob Pasch, Curt Gottschalk, and Denise McBride
Sick Bank: Denise McBride and Jane Finnerty
ISD Budget Hearing Representative: Rod Cole
Personnel Committee: Denise McBride, Kari Rojas and Rod Cole (Curt Gottschalk will take Rod’s place during negotiation meetings)
Board Policy Development Committee: Kari Rojas, Bob Pasch, and Ron Neyer
Technology Committee: Kari Rojas, Denise McBride and Rod Cole
Motion by Ron Neyer, seconded by Jane Finnerty to approve the committees as presented with Curt Gottschalk taking the place of Rod Cole for negotiations. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Kari Rojas, seconded by Ron Neyer to approve the scheduled meeting dates and times for 2016 as presented. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Rod Cole, seconded by Curt Gottschalk to approve the Board salaries as follows: President $225.00 – MASB $35.00 – Secretary $165.00 – Treasurer $165.00 and other Board members $150.00 each. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Ron Neyer, seconded by Bob Pasch to accept the financial institutions as presented. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Kari Rojas, seconded by Jane Finnerty to allow the signatures on the checking, savings, investments and loans as presented. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Kari Rojas, seconded by Rod Cole to select Thrun Law Firmof Lansing as our attorney for 2016. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Jane Finnerty, seconded by Kari Rojas to authorize Administrators and the Superintendent or a board member to sign all purchase orders. Add that purchase orders require two signatures. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Jane Finnerty, seconded by Ron Neyer to authorize the use of a credit card with the approval of the Superintendent or Board Member. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Kari Rojas, seconded by Ron Neyer to have legal notices published in the Morning Sun. Motion carried 7/0.
Motion by Kari Rojas, seconded by Bob Pasch to adjourn at 7:00 p.m. Motion carried 7/0.
