An outstanding location and transport links, a highly-regarded university, and thriving grassroots contemporary cultural scene, including the UK’s largest youth theatre group.
Paisley’s existing events programme has already energised the town and the community, and events like British Pipe Band Championships, Sma Shot Day, the Spree and Paisley Halloween festival are already attracting tens of thousands of people to the area.

From the beginning of this campaign it has been evident that the bid is for Paisley and by the people Paisley.The rebirth of Paisley is already happening and it is a truly exciting time for Scotland’s largest town.

We wish Paisley2021 well with the bid and would strongly encourage the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to seriously consider Paisley as the winning applicant for the title of UK City of Culture 2021.
