European Explorers

REMINDER: You have been assigned the European explorer ______.

Using the Flow Map we created in class, write a five paragraph presentation. Your written piece will include a paragraph describing some background of your European Explorer (Where s/he was from, type of employment, family, etc.), what lead your European explorer to search for the New World, how your explorer impacted the Native Americans, and how your explorer impacted the development of the United States. Include a timeline illustrating your explorer’s journey.

3.) Ryder and Jude ran around the playground. Ryder ran around the playground 7 times. Jude ran around the playground twice as many times as Ryder. How many times did Jude run around the playground?

4.) Alana has 6 quarters in her bank. How much money does Alana have in quarters? (What is the VALUE of the quarters?)

5.)Kauionalani was at the beach for five days and saved 8 starfish every day. How many starfish did Kauionalani save on her trip?

6.)Vladimir has 11 pairs of swimming fins. How many individual fins does Vladimir have in all?

7.)Jeremia has 3 dogs. Devan has three times as many dogs! How many dogs does Devan have?

8.) Kaliyah went to six baseball games a month in April, May, June, and July. How many baseball games did Kaliyah attend?

Due Daily

Monday (Due Tuesday): Write each spelling word correctly three times. Write four sentences, using at least one spelling word in each sentence. Use correct capitalization, spelling, and punctuation.

Tuesday (Due Wednesday): Write the spelling words in alphabetical order. Write four sentences, using at least one spelling word (Different than those used on Monday) in each sentence. Use correct capitalization, spelling, and punctuation.
Wednesday (Due Thursday): Make a tree map organizing the spelling words into nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and other. Write four sentences, using at least one spelling word (Different than those used on Monday and Tuesday) in each sentence. Use correct capitalization, spelling, and punctuation.

Thursday (Due Friday): Take a practice spelling test and have a great speller check it for you. Rewrite any misspelled words correctly three times each. Write four sentences, using at least one spelling word (Different than those used on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) in each sentence. Use correct capitalization, spelling, and punctuation.
