PLEASE ATTEND !!!
DATE: Tuesday, March 28th, 2006
WHERE: Rockford Township Hall
3039 Dague Ave. S.E., Buffalo
WHEN: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
This winter, Wright County’s Office of Planning and Zoning kicked off the Northeast Quadrant Comprehensive Land Use Plan, with assistance from a consultant team of Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH) and Ekola & Associates, Inc. The Northeast Quadrant, which is comprised of the Townships of Buffalo, Monticello and Rockford, is experiencing unprecedented growth and its associated pressures at city/township borders, as well as demands placed on agricultural and natural resources in the County.
There has never been a more important time for public participation to plan for the future use of land and systems in this part of the County. Stakeholder participation, consensus-building and intergovernmental cooperation are key factors in the land use planning process, and we are asking you for your participation in this effort.
A public meeting is being held on Tuesday March 28th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Rockford Town Hall (3039 Dague Ave. SE, Buffalo).
You are invited to attend this meeting to help the
community identify key areas and issues for the County
to plan for as part of completing their Land Use Plan.
This meeting will bring residents, property and business owners together to identify the community’s vision for the future as well as serve as the basis for completion of the rest of the plan.
The SEH Team has been conducting an inventory and analysis of the area, which includes a review of land use, agriculture, open space, transportation systems, physical/environmental conditions and new development occurring within the county. Much of this information will be presented at this first public meeting, which is the first of several meetings that will be held in the coming months.
In addition to these public meetings, a project Task Force made up of elected and appointed officials and staff from each of the townships and cities in the northeast quadrant has been organized to guide the process. Find out which Task Force member represents your area at the meeting on March 28th.
