Grades from Seminars

The following requirements are necessary to obtain grades from seminars:

2)Each presentation should be worked out.

3)To the oral presentations will be allocated a 20 minutes time slot.

4)Students will present their presentations on exercises: 2nd ,3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th.

5)At the end of each seminar will be a small test (2-3 questions) about the reworked topic.

6)On the last seminar (25.01.2018) will be the final test. The test lasts 60 minutes and consists of 60 questions. It's necessary to get at leastC to be able to pass test. The following criteria will be used for grading:
58-60/60 = A (5 points),
51-57/60 = B (4 points),
42-50/60 = C (3 points),
41/60 or less = F (2 points, the test is failed).

7)The questions in the tests will be based on the theoretical material comprised in a) seminar abstracts when indicated, and b) presentations on seminars;

8)The final test may be retaken only twice.

9)The dates of presentations are fixed and it is not possible to be changed by the students.

Absence from Seminars and In-class Graded Assignments

Poor class attendance disrupts the continuity of the studies. Once a class is missed, neither seminars nor exercises can be recovered. Class participation is an important factor of the educational process and cannot be reconstructed. A correlation exists between attendance and learning achievements.

Therefore, in the case a student misses any test, exercise or seminar and the final exam for health reasons, an off sick note must be presented to the teacher within a week following the return to classes. However, in this case, no excuse will be accepted for more than two consecutive absences. It's important to note that, if the aforementioned misses are not for health reasons, the acceptance of excuses and the permission to resit a test will depend on the approval by the dean, to whom a plea of excuse shall be formally presented.

As a rule, the student will need to pass a written test for each missed seminar. An absence may be considered unexcused when not approved or sanctioned by the dean's office or when not supervised by the teacher.
