REGULATION FOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS

TITLE 1

CHAPTER 1

Generalities

Article 1. –Exchange student mean all students who follow part of their career in Universidad Regiomontana and receive credits in their home university (exceptions apply), without importance of the program in which they participate, or if they come independently.

Article 2. - The foreign student will have to maintain a suitable behavior at any moment, as a representative of his country, and student of the UR. If not maintaining a suitable behavior, UR will reserve the right to sanction the conduct.

Article 3. - Each foreign student must have a valid student visa. UR will serve support respect to the migratory proceeding, but will not be responsible for the duration of the proceeding, nor of the decisions taken by the National Institute of Migration. The foreign student will not be able to leave the country without a valid permission of exit and return in the course of the migratory proceeding. UR will not become responsible of fines or disciplinary measures that can arise from students’ behavior.

Article 4. - No foreign student will be able to study in UR without valid medical insurance in Mexico, with direct cover of expenses. The foreign student will have to give a copy of the policy to the Department of International Affairs not more than 15 days after the beginning of the exchange.

Article 5. - The foreign students must obey the dispositions contained in the General Statute of the University.

Article 6. - The schedule will be elaborated by the personnel of International Affairs based on the agreement of exchange or the indications of the student in the exchange request. One change of schedule within the first week of classes will be allowed.

Article 7. - The removal of courses at the request of student or institution will be carried out according to the General Statute of the University. The removals at the request of the student will be issued by the Department of International Affairs contacting the Scholar Service Department.

Article 8. - The full semester load is 6 courses for students of Bachelor Degree and 3 courses for students of Masters degrees. It will only be allowed, additional the full semester load, the courses offered by the Department of International Affairs solely.

Article 9. - The foreign student will have the right to receive qualifications if the student credits a minimum of 88% of class attendance. The Department of International Affairs will issue Letters of Justification only for international events organized by the Department of International Affairs.

Article 10. - The dates of the final examsare not to be changed. The student must attend the tetramestre throughout and appear to all his final exams in the indicated date. In the opposite, he will not receive qualification for the course.

Article 11. - The Department of International Affairs will send to the Universities corresponding transcripts of studies of the students not more than four months after the student finished the tetramestre.

TITLE II

CHAPTER I

STUDENTS ISEP

Article 12. – The Department of International Affairs will be responsible for the lodging, in shared quarter (maximum of 2 people by room), and of alimentation of the student by means of program ISEP. The benefit will initiate the day established in the ISEP guide and will finish the last day of classes. The student will not have the right to receive the benefit during the vacations.

Article 13. – The allocation of lodging for students of Program ISEP will be carried out according to the indications of the student. The student will be able to choose to stay in host family or shared rooms in a studentsdepartment. The student, in case of deciding to stay in a shared room in student departments, will receive a meal stipend.

Article 14. – If the student is lodged in a host family, he will receive at least 19 meals a week in the house. He does not have the right to demand additional benefits fromUR.

Article 15. – If the student will stay in departments, he will receive a check of the amount of $2.000 MXN in the Department of Treasury the first week of the month by concept of meal stipend. Additional benefits will not be assigned.

Article 16. – The student will not have the right to demand the change to another type of lodging during the tetramestre, with exception of the breach of the contract on part of the landlord.

Article 17. –The Department of International Affairs will reserve the right to change to the lodging of the student at any time.

Article 18. – The student will respect at any time the regulations of the building in which she is provided with accommodations.

Article 19. – It will be obligatory to pay the amount of 100 dollars by concept of deposit, the money will be returned the day that the student returns the keys of the department, if the department has not suffered any damages.

Article 20. – This deposit will be paid in the Department of Treasury from
UR no more than 15 days after initiating the exchange, using the form designated for this effect and paying to the account "Lodging and Feeding" of key "HOYAL". After made this payment, the student will have to give the payment receiptto the Department of International Affairs.

Article 21. – If some damage to the department or the house exists, its repair will be paid with the deposit, and if necessary, the student will have to pay the difference. It is responsibility of each guest to leave the department in the same conditions in which it was given to him.

Article 22. – The technical or mechanical faults will have to be demanded by the student as soon as the default is noticed, to the owner of the department or his representative. UR will act only in case of lack of activity on the part of the owner.

Article 23. – Social meetings will be prohibited, as well as the celebrations, unless it is counted on the written consent of the family or the other students.

Article 24. – The student will at any time present/display a suitable and adapted behavior to the Mexican culture, in coexistence with other students, as well as in its deal with neighbors and other people in his surroundings.

Article 25. - In no case the permanence of visiting people during the night (of 10:00pm to 8:00 a.m.) in the department will be allowed.

Article 26. – Smoking within the house or room will be prohibited.

Article 27. - Animals or mascots will not be accepted.

CHAPTER III

DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAM

Article 28. – The exchange students will be able to participate in the program of Double Degree as long as its university of origin has an agreement for such effect with UR and the student is admitted for this program.

Article 29. – If the student will get to face academic problems and/or will fail a course, it will be his obligation to inform the Department of International Affairs as soon as possible to be able search for a solution.

Article 30. - In order to obtain thediplome, the bachelor student hands in the following documents:

  • Original birth certificate with Apostille
  • Original certificate of bachelor or masters degree with all the subjects of the curriculum and Apostille.
  • It will have to contain at least 40 subjects.
  • Copy certified by the school of origin of the diploma granted by the same one with Apostille.
  • Certificates that credit to the previous studies from 7° to 12° added year of education, with Apostille.
  • To attend in three tetramestres in the UR 20 subjects of which at least 18 will be curricular matters of the International Business Bachelor.
  • Valid Migratory form of student who protects at least a year of study in UR.
  • Request of regular admission, filled in completely
  • Six photos for file, credential size (4,5 Xs 3,5 cm).
  • Men have to wear suit and necktie, and women formal clothes
  • Photos for title: 4 photos size diplome, 6 credential size and 6 infantile size
  • To fill in the graduation request
  • To pay 50% of the cost of the title.

Article 31. - The double degree studentwill be forced to attend and to approve 20 matters during the year of exchange, of which 18 will be matters of the Degree in International Businesses, a class of Spanish and a class of History and Mexican Culture.

Article 32. –If the student fails to aproove 20 subjects named by the Faculty Dean after the year of exchange, he will not receive the corresponding diplome.

MASTER LEVEL

Article 33. - The double degree studentin Masters level will be forced to approve 10 subjects during the year of interchange, of which 6 will be matters of the Masters in Administration, a matter of Applied Quantitative Methods, a matter of Theory of Decisions, a class of Spanish and a class of History and Mexican Culture.

Article 34. - If the student does not approve the 10 matters indicated in the year of exchange, he will not receive the title corresponding.

Article 35. -revoked.

CHAPTER IV

INTERNSHIPS

Article 36. – The student interested in internships will have to apply at the Department of International Affairs with a minimum of 1 month of anticipation of the beginning of the wished practices.

Article 37. - The student will hand in a CV written in Spanish language, with a passport sized photograph, and a presentation letter, detailing the wished internship.

Article 38. - The student must have the status of a student in UR during his practices, attending at least one course.

Article 39. - The student will not receive remuneration for the professional internship.

Article 40. - The student will appear in the indicated company dressed formally andin accordance to the type and place of work.

TITLE III

CHAPTER I

EVENTS/TOURSOFFERED BY UR

Article 41. - The University will not be responsible for the execution of parts delegated to travel agencies or for the condition of lodging; therefore, the University will not become responsible for the quality of the service, delays or any default in the performance of delegated services.

Article42. – The student will have to obeyat every moment to indications and instructions of the representatives of UR.

Article 43. – The student will loose the right to participate in the trip or any activity related by delay in the payment of the corresponding amount or by not appearingat the hour and placeindicated.

Article 44. –UR reserves the right to cancel the trip for lack of minimum participation or any other justifiedreason. In case of cancellation of the trip on part of UR, the payment that the student has donewill be refunded.

Article 45. – By the present Regulation, the UR is excluded from all civil and penal responsibility, in case of some injury or accident as a result of activities organized by the same one.
