Regular Meeting of
Tuesday January 2, 2018
Mayor Christopher Jackson called the regular meeting of the Walhalla City Council to order, 7:00 P.M., Tuesday January 2, 2018 at City Hall.
Alderman Present: Karen Dumas, Myrna Styles, Erin Cook, Mike Belanus and Hailey Moore.
Absent: Steve Gapp
Also Present: Travis and Autumn Bennett, Stuart Symington and Larry Dubois.
Moved by Belanus to approve minutes of December 4, 2017, second by Styles. Ayes: All, Nays: None. Motion carried.
Moved by Belanus to transfer $37,130.00 to the General Fund from the ADM Fund, second by Cook. Ayes: All, Nays: None. Motion carried.
Moved by Belanus to approve Financial Statement with transfer, second by Cook. Ayes: All, Nays: None. Motion carried.
Communications: Mayor read a letter from the ND DOT on the Cross Walks on Highway 32 going through town.
Economic Development Committee: Alderman Moore and Alderman Belanus brought up the interest of Mr. Symington regarding BL Industries and what programs the City could help with.
Mr. Dubois went over the Agreement changes with the Council that Mr. & Mrs. Bennett asked to be changed on the lease agreement. Moved by Belanus to have Bennetts pay for the month of December for use of the Kitchen and start the lease March 1st.
Moved by Styles to pay all bills presented , second by Cook. Ayes: Dumas, Styles, Cook, Belanus and Moore. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Alderman /Cook spoke to the Council on Mary Mostads Job reviews that were handed in for a increase in her wages. Moved by Erin to approve the an increase to $10.00 an hour, second by Moore. Ayes: Dumas, Styles, Cook, Belanus and Moore, Nays: None. Motion carried.
Moved by Moore to designate Choice Financial Group and Citizens State Bank as the depositories for the City Public Funds, second by Cook. Ayes: Dumas, Styles, Cook, Belanus and Moore. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Moved by Moore to adjourn the meeting, second by Styles. Ayes: All, Nays: None. Motion carried.
