Monday Afternoon – July 19

______1:15- 2:45 - eLearn Checklist-the checklist tool provides instructors a method to highlight important aspects of their course. Users can use the checklist as a visual guideline to determine what they need to accomplish to complete the course. This tool can also be used as an electronic letter of agreement between instructor and students.

______1:15 – 4:30 - eLearn Supplemental and DropBox– A brief look at some of the secondary tools in eLearn including Glossary, Checklist, Links, User Links, FAQ and Events. The majority of the time will be spent looking at the Grades tool in eLearn. Participants in this session will learn how to build and manage an eLearn Gradebook. This training is the second level of eLearn training and is necessary to teach online at Chattanooga State.

______1:15 – 4:30 - eLive Training - An introduction to eLive. This web-based application allows users to communicate online which facilitates virtual office hours, meetings, and instruction. The interactive tools which will be covered include polling, application share, and web pages. Attendees will also work in breakout rooms, cover how to make dynamic recordings in eLive, and how to download and covert various file types to post or email. Elluminate Live and Elluminate Publish will be used during this session.

______3:00 – 4:30 - Respondus 4.0- This is the New and Improved version of Respondus. One of the advantages of using Respondus 4.0, is that you can take a Test/Quiz in Word 2007 Format, and import into Respondus 4.0. Learn how to format the Word 2007 file in a Standard Respondus format, and then import the Word File in Respondus 4.0. Apply all the settings for the Test/Quiz and import into D2L. This will include how to import a Word 2007 File with Pictures/Images into Respondus, and a Word File that uses the Equation Editor in Word 2007.

______1:15- 2:45 - eLearn Groups Tool- the Groups tool provides instructors a method to organize their class into smaller sections that can be used to create group work areas for students. Groups can be used to organize students’ work on projects or assignments or to create special work areas for students with different learning needs. Each group can have its own discussion forums and dropbox folders. It also allows restricting of various topics in discussions.

______1:15- 2:45 –SmartBoard - This Class will teach Instructors, how to use the Smart Board. The Smart Board is an Electronic Whiteboard, which helps you to control Applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, right from the white board. You can annotate PowerPoints, Word, Excel, capture notes, and distribute your class notes as a PDF. You can also create Screen Captures, and save them as Demo Videos. Drawing Tools can be used to create Diagrams, and Tutorials in various subjects, can be used for instructional purposes.

______3:00 -4:30 - RSS Feeds in eLearn - RSS Feeds are a very convenient way for accessing information on various subjects, like History, or Politics, or Technology. Once you subscribe to a feed, the information automatically comes to you. This class will teach you how to create an RSS feed inside of D2L. The Feed is created using JavaScript (no knowledge of JavaScript is required), and then inserted in D2L. So your favorite RSS feeds are directly available in D2L. This is one extra source of current information in your D2L course.

______8:45 – 10:15 – SmartBoard - This Class will teach Instructors, how to use the Smart Board. The Smart Board is an Electronic Whiteboard, which helps you to control Applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, right from the white board. You can annotate PowerPoints, Word, Excel, capture notes, and distribute your class notes as a PDF. You can also create Screen Captures, and save them as Demo Videos.
