REGISTRATION 2010

1.1 FIRST YEAR UNDERGRADUATES, SENIOR RETURNING UNDERGRADUATES AND NEW AND RETURNING HONOURS STUDENTS

Registration for all students will take place as follows: -

Orientation for new undergraduate students will take place from 25 to 30 January 2010 and is only open to registered students.

1.2 MASTERS AND DOCTORAL CANDIDATES

Masters (by coursework and minor dissertation) candidates must register on 29 January 2010. Masters (by dissertation only) and Doctoral students, who do not register on 29 January 2010, may also register in their respective faculties (via the Faculty Administrator). New Masters (by dissertation only) and new Doctoral candidates must register by 30 June 2010. Returning Masters (by dissertation only) and Doctoral students must register by 31 March 2010.


1.3 FEES FOR 2010

Please note that all outstanding balances from previous years must be settled in full before a student will be permitted to register in 2010.

Returning students who wish to determine what their outstanding balance is, should contact the Student Ledgers Office on 018 389 2227/2410.

Tuition Fees

The Council of the University has approved an increase of tuition fees of, on average, 9,5% for the 2010 academic year on the Mafikeng campus.

Full details of the fee amounts per programme will be available at registration.

Residence Fees

On campus residence (Undergraduate students) R 8 800 per annum

On campus residence (Postgraduate students) R 10 120 per annum

Gloria Park (flats) R 17 710 per annum

MINIMUM AMOUNT PAYABLE ON REGISTRATION

The initial amount payable on registration is R4 410, consisting of a Registration (Enrolment) fee of R910 and an initial deposit of R3 500 for tuition fees.

Students staying in residences will have to pay the minimum amount of R4 410 as set out above and, in addition, 50% of the annual residence fees.
