Confirmation Covenant

St. John’s Episcopal Church, Huntington

For Candidates & Parents

The goal of St. John’sConfirmation ministry is to equip disciples of Jesus Christ by:

  1. Renewal of their Baptismal covenant.
  2. Instruction in the basics of Biblical principles and Christian teachings as drawn from Anglican and Episcopal tradition.
  3. Helping the participants to witness to Good News of Christ daily in their words and actions.
  4. Helping students understand the Lord's Supper. (1 Corinthians 11:27).
  5. Recognizeand the responsibility for their own spiritual growth as Christians.
  6. To be received into Communicant membership by the congregation.

Minimum Requirements to be met in order to be eligible for Confirmation:

  1. Must be a Baptized Christian.
  2. Attend class sessions and scheduled learning events.
  3. Attendance in Sunday worship services.
  4. Satisfactory reciting from memory the Lord’s Prayer.
  5. Cooperative attitude toward class work, homework, memory work, instructors, small group time, and class members.
  6. Satisfactory completion of assigned work.
  7. Volunteer in 2 different ministries at St. John’ssuch as: Thrift Shop, Breakfast Team, HIHI dinner, etc.

Confirmation 2017 Classes

Classes meet in the Guild Room on Sundays from 5:30-6:30pm

Youth Group normally meets 6:30 – 8:00 pm after Class.

Class 3: February 26

Class 4: March 12

Class 5: March 19

Class 6: April 9

Besides class, attendance at Celtic Service is needed for Confirmation Candidates.

A minimum attendance of at least 1 of the Celtic Services is required.

Sunday, March 26 at 5:30 pm

Sunday, April 30 at 5:30 pm

Confirmation on Saturday, May 13 at 11 am

at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City.

Rehearsal is an hour ahead of service!
