Talented secondary students with an interest in music and tutoring are invited to participate in the Showtime Band Mentor Workshop Program.
Aims:
To provide Secondary students interested in music
· the opportunity to learn tutoring skills
· act as mentors to primary aged music students
· gain work experience for those interested in tutoring/ teaching music alongside other like- minded music students and professional music teachers
· receive guidance in ‘how to teach’ beginner and intermediate level concert band students
· workshop and perform in small and large ensembles.
Who: Secondary students with an interest in music, who are able read and perform music confidently.
Workshop Dates: Monday 19 June 9.30am – 1.45pm
Monday 7 August 9.30am – 1.45pm
Monday 9 October 9.30am – 1.45pm
Students may select to attend 1, 2 or all 3 workshops
Evening Concert: Monday 16 October evening concert (optional)
Workshop Venue: Minchinbury Public School
Cost: Nil

The Showtime Band Workshop Program to be held at Minchinbury PS (just off the Great Western Hwy near Eastern Creek) is once again providing talented secondary school music students the opportunity to be involved in a tutoring program; tutoring beginner and intermediate level, primary school aged band students.
This program offers music students valuable work experience in the field of music tuition and band coordination. Student tutors will be working alongside professional tutors/ conductors and will perform with our primary band students at the workshops. Primary students will either be beginners or intermediate standard.
· Tutors will be required to organise their own transport to and from Minchinbury Public School.
· Tutors have the option of attending one, two or three band workshops and an evening concert to be held at
St. Albans Anglican Church Rooty Hill.
· Tutors will be required to bring their own instrument, instrument stand, music stand, hat, food and refreshments.

Confirmation with all students 2 weeks will occur before the workshop dates to check if your child is still able to attend.
We understand how busy children become in a school term and will not be concerned if you child becomes unavailable due to other school commitments.
