Carols At ChristmasProject Support Volunteer

Where, when and how often?
This role will support the planning and organisation of our Suffolk Carols At Christmas events. It will be based at home with regular visits/catch ups with your local Community Fundraiser.The role is flexible and can fit around your schedule but ideally a commitment of 1 day per week/fortnight would be expected for you to be effective in your role.
How does the role make a difference?
Regional fundraising is at the very centre of how we raise vital funds at a local level. The money we raise funds the delivery of services that include our website and National Dementia Helpline, as well as the services we provide locally. It also helps to fund research into care for today and a cure for tomorrow, and our campaigning work.
What will I be doing?
This is an excellent opportunity to join our highly successfulCentral Community Fundraising team. The role will support the administration and organisation of our Suffolk Carols at Christmas events. We are aiming to raise over £4,000 at this one event.
Tasks could include:
  • Organise Choirs and speakers for the event
  • Offering excellent customer care to attendees via email and phone
  • Sourcing gifts in kind to support the events
  • Marketing support
  • Some further general administrative duties
  • Volunteer recruitment and training prior to the event
  • Attend the event to offer support
This is an ideal role for someone who has excellent communication skills and strong IT skills. It is an opportunity to grow your knowledge of fundraising in the charity sector, and develop your skills.
What do I have to do before I can start?
Before you start,you will need to complete a registration form and provide two references.
The role manager will then be in touch to discuss the rolein more detail, answer any questions you might have and arrange an informal interview.
How will I be supported during my volunteering?
You will receive training to start your roleand will have a dedicated role manager to support you. We will reimbursereasonable travel expenses.
