ENGLISH/II LANGAUGE

Study your lessons thoroughly, to answer extract based questions. This will also help you to attempt value based questions accurately where your analytical skills are tested.

The word limit for each answer is to write 15 – 20 words for each mark. Thus you write 30 – 40 words for 2 marks, 60 – 80 words for 4 marks, 100 – 120 for 5 marks and 220 – 250 for 10 marks approximately.

Present your answers in a manner that appeals to the examiner. Underline the key words to highlight the value points.

Choose to attempt any section but bear in mind that all questions of a particular section need to be written together.

In the “reading” section for a 1 mark question, even if the answer is one or two words, write it in a complete sentence. Elaborate the answers a little more for 2 marks questions.

When attempting comprehension DO NOT copy/paste the entire chunk of related text. Frame your own answers from the context.

In the “writing” section follow CODER (Compose-Organize-Draft-Edit-Rewrite). Alternatively you can present the problem, the causes, the effects, and the possible solutions sequentially.

Practicing grammar not just helps in the grammar section but also in the language used in the entire paper.

 Maintain neat margins and write correct question numbers in the left margin. Do not replace 1-2-3-4 with a-b-c-d or vice versa.

Present your paper neatly in legible handwriting. Do not overwrite or insert letters or words instead strike off neatly and rewrite. Do not scribble over or use correction pen (whitener).

MATHEMATICS

Carry your Geometry Box and all stationery. No borrowing would be allowed.

Make a rough column on the right hand side of each page. NO ADDITIONALS will be given for rough work.

Draw figures for 3 marks and 4 marks questions.

Questions on Heights and Distance will be evaluated only if the figure is drawn correctly.

Do not write steps for constructions unless specified.

Approximately allot the following division of time

Section A and Section B ---- 30 min

Section C -- 45 min

Section D -- 1hr 15 min

Cross checking -- 30 min

Do not leave any question attempted.

Do not waste time on a particular question. Leave space and move ahead. Revisit that question at the end.

Do not elaborate 1 mark and 2 mark questions.

Support your answer with appropriate reasoning.

SCIENCE

After reading the question paper thoroughly, start attempting the paper with section –A, followed by section –B.

To maintain sequential order of answering questions in both, section A & B. Leave required space for unknown questions so that you can try to write relevant answers later.

To carry two sharped pencils and an eraser along with hall ticket and pens as there would be diagram based questions compulsorily.

Diagrams to be drawn of appropriate size and labelling is compulsory.

Do not forget to draw directions in light ray diagrams and mention units in sums.

To write 8 to 10 lines answer for 5m, 5 to 6 lines for 3m and 3 to 4 lines for 2m and 1 to 2 lines for 1m questions.

Do not change question number.

Leave one line after every answer in section A & B.

Recheck the answer script for last 15 min and not to overlook sub questions given in 3m and 5m questions.

SOCIAL SCIENCE

Read the questions carefully and understand the inherent meaning of the question and answer accordingly.

Attempt all the questions in chronological order and put the correct number on the answer sheet.

For three mark questions write three specific points and for five marks write 5 points. (not five sentences) One extra point may be added.

Put a tick mark on the question after writing the answer, so that you can check whether all the questions are attempted or not.

To make the answer sheet neat and presentable leave one line between the answer.

Map skill must be done on the map provided in the question paper.

Labelling should be done on the lines provided in the history map.

Take the map out of the question paper and tie in between the answer booklet.

In Geography map you need to locate and label (write name) in legible handwriting.

Do the numbering of the supplements to tie them in proper order with the booklet.

COMPUTER SCIENCE (FOUNDATION OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)

Read the question paper thoroughly and answer the questions which you know.

Identify the questions which you know perfectly and answer them first.

First write the answers for section-A.

While writing the HTML code, write the code line by line.

Write the attributes within the start tag itself.

While writing the table code, first identify how many rows and columns are there in the table. Then you have to identify merged rows and columns in each row or column.

While writing XML tree structure code, at each tree level start the code from left most onwards.

 While writing XML table structure code, assume one root tag and parent tag(ex: row or row1).

Don’t be confused while writing attribute for tags.

Believe you can and you are half-way there. Luck happens when preparation meets opportunity.
