  1. Minutes and Actions. The minutes of May 31, 2013, were approved with the following corrections: Andrew Dickinson’s email address should , and the domain name is .org]. The correct spelling of Towson University’s Ass’t. Dean of Student Affairs is Mary Ann Criss.
  1. Theory Articulation: Patti. Our last review was in the spring. We should expect that articulation will be fluid, depending upon the upper-level institution. Students transferring to Towson and UMBC have little trouble if students have completed all 4 semesters of theory. Students who have the A.A. degree seem to transfer more easily.
  1. MACMA Website Update: Andrew Dickinson. Members can continue to send additions and corrections to Andrew for uploading. Send specific links to music departments, rather than to the college homepage. The domain name: can be sent to Andrew at any time, .
  1. Treasurer’s Report:Hsien-Ann Meng[in absentia]. Our balance is$1533.49. Patti will ask Hsien-Ann whether institutional dues invoices for this year have been sent.
  1. 2013 Transfer Fair: Patti Crossman. The Transfer Fair went well. We will set a date for next year’s fair at the March meeting. We need a committee to handle all of the details, and we need more timely commitments from master class instructors. Andrew: I suggest that we do the “fair” part first. Ridley: MSU is happy with the Fair—the student panel is particularly valuable.Ridley will ask MSU to send its Trombone Choir to perform at next year’s master class. It will be held again on a Friday in October.
  1. Affordable Care Act and Adjunct Instructors.Maximum now for adjuncts may be 11 credits per semester. We should continue our discussion about policies and interpretations, according to each institution. Members are asked to report back about policies as they develop. Andrew will place on website a clearinghouse for adjuncts at member institutions who seek classes. Institutions should send vacancies to Andrew and/or Patti.
