Location : Kinshasa, DRC.

Context

Communication for Change(C-Change) is a multisectoral project working in social and behavior change communication for health in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Implemented by FHI 360 (Family Health International 360) with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the C-Change/DRC project provides technical support in social and behavior change communication (SBCC) to the Ministry of Public health and other partners working in the area of integrated primary health care at the national and health zone level in the DRC.

The ultimate goal of C-Change is to contribute to the improvement of health and well-being of populations. C-Change/DRC works in the in the following areas: improvement of the quality and efficiency of interventions, programs, and educational materials related to SBCC; institutional support; capacity strengthening of partners operating in the field of integrated primary health care.

As part of the implementation of its programs, C-Change/DRC seeks to recruit a Professional Driver for its Office in Kinshasa, DRC.

Description of position

Under the supervision of the C-Change/DRC Senior Administrative & Finance Manager and the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer, the Driver will be responsible for transportation of personnel and official FHI 360/C-Change DRC visitors and the proper use of the vehicle. He will ensure respect for procedures in accordance with ethical norms of FHI 360. He will be based in Kinshasa, DRC and will provide logistical support in the activities of the various programs of C-Change project.

Specific responsibilities

The driver will specifically assume the following tasks:

·  Driving safely local and international staff and also C-Change project employees;

·  Ensuring passengers and their belongings safety in the vehicle, and serving as a guide for personal and foreign employees;

·  Performing daily technical routine check and maintaining the vehicle in a clean condition;

·  Observing safety standards and ensuring whenever that the vehicle is equipped with facilities (medical kit and mechanical emergency kit) and required document;

·  Checking the vehicle daily use based on the logbook or appropriate records; Maintaining on a weekly basis the status of traveled mileage and used fuel / consumed by the vehicle;

·  Ensuring racing related to purchases, delivery of mail, parcels and project materials;

·  Observing the vehicle maintenance program;

·  Performing minor interventions if necessary, and bringing the vehicle to the garage for maintenance and major repair;

·  Informing the Supervisor (Logistics Officer) of any case of absolute necessity before taking appropriate actions;

·  Guiding Drivers of the possible rented vehicles;

·  Performing other job duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Skills and required qualifications

·  Professional experience of at least 3 years as a driver;

·  Have worked in a USAID funded project International Organization would be an asset;

·  Have self-control;

·  Connaitrele plan de la ville de Kinshasa;

·  Knowledge of Kinshasa city;

·  Have the traffic rules control;

·  Ability to work under pressure;

·  Ability to write a report;

·  Secondary school technical diploma or equivalent.

Language skills:

·  Ability to speak at least one national language in addition to fluent French (written and oral);

·  Ability to understand(Listening and understanding) English would be a major asset.
