ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (EAAC)

MEETING MINUTES

Tuesday June 27, 2017

I.  Roll Call 7:00 PM

Jennifer, Bruce, Andrea, Deborah, Chip, and Matthew in attendance. Dan has resigned. Megan Burke, who is a potential new member, sat in.

II.  Review/approve minutes of May Meeting

Reviewed minutes from the May meeting. No changes requested or identified.

III.  Public Comments

None.

IV.  Old Business

q  ROSI Clearance

The submittal has been delayed by the Township. The Committee will update it after it has been submitted.

q  Hartford Crossing

Bruce and Jen attended the National Trails Day open house. No visitors came, probably due to the weather and lack of publicity. The second bridge was installed by the boy scouts.

V. New Business

q  Goals and Objectives – 2017

q  ROSI Open Space Reconciliation

No update due to absence of Clark and Beth.

q  Hartford Crossing Mountain Bike Park – Matt

Trail paving is now going to be sent out for bids, using additional funds provided by the Township. Chip will contact Beth to get thing moving (*). Another cleanup will be scheduled for the fall. Volunteers will be sought to help. Potential sources for volunteers are the Boy Scouts and Lenape High School. Bruce will try to find contacts for Lenape (*).

q  NJ Sustainability Plan – Dan/Matt

There was no discussion due to Dan’s absence. The Committee will regroup to find a path forward.

q  Tree City Application – Jen

This year’s application is being prepared by Jen (*).

q  Other New Business

q  Attendance at Planning Board Meetings

The ordinance establishing this Committee states that a MEAAC member will be a member of the Planning Board, which hasn’t happened. Deb will contact the Planning Board to discuss this issue (*).

q  Spring Cleanup

Andrea suggested that the Committee organize a cleanup for next Spring.

VI. Zoning Considerations

q  The new Dunkin Donuts on Tuckerton road has been canceled.

q  Construction of the new Republic Bank continues.
