Recognizing the outstanding national and conference/A.I.I. athletics directors of the past year

Description: Recognizes an outstanding athletics administrator based on accomplishments during the previous year in the areas of athletics administration and service to the NAIA.

Criteria

1. Must be active as an athletics director at a member institution for a minimum of five years.

Required Nomination Materials

1. Official nomination form.

2. Current high resolution photo.

3. A complete resume.

4. A maximum of three letters of recommendation from the following:
a. president/chancellor of the nominee’s institution;

b. conference commissioner;

c. a colleague within the conference.

Nomination Procedure

1. Each affiliated conference/A.I.I. may nominate one athletics administrator based on accomplishments during the previous year and submit the required materials to the commissioner of their affiliated conference/A.I.I. by the June 15 deadline.

2. Method of selection by the conference awards committee is determined by the conference.

3. Conferences/A.I.I. are free to announce their conference winners at any time after selection.

4 The nomination materials for the conference/A.I.I. winner are to be sent to the National Office by July 15.

National Award Selection

1. The NAIA National Office will forward the conference/A.I.I.’s winner’s nomination materials to the NAIA-ADA Awards Committee for selection of the national award winner.

2. After selection is made by the appropriate committee, the National Office officially notifies the national winner a week before NAIA National Awards Day in September.

Recognition

The national award recipient is announced publically during NAIA National Awards Day in September and will be presented with a certificate and recognized at an annual function in conjunction with the NAIA National Convention.
