Reading Comprehension : Me and my town

I live in San José, in the Santa Clare Valley, California. It's the place that most people call “ Silicon Valley” because people make silicon chips for computer here. San José is a great town, and I'm definitively going to stay here when I leave school. I want to study IT at San José University because I'm planning to be a computer engineer. Maybe I'll work for a company like Google or Apple. I hope to write a fantastic new computer programme one day.

I work in a computer shop on Saturdays. It's great because I can learn a lot and buy great gadgets there. Last week I bought a cool laptop with a touch screen. It is normally really expensive , but I got it for a cheap price because I work there. It's got fingerprint recognition, so my sisters can't use it, when I'm not there. My school is in the centre of the town, near to Cesar Chavez Square.

Bands play in the square in the summer, so I often meet my friends there after school. In the winter, there's a Christmas market, which has got great presents. My school is quite small, but we've got a big school gym and pool, and some great sports couches, so we're really good at sports. I'm in the ice hockey team, and next week we're going to play in a school championship.

We're a good team so maybe we'll win. I love my school, but my sisters and I are going to move to another school next year because our new house isn't in the centre of town. I?ll really miss my school friends, but I'll probably chat to them online every day.
