This task covers ASCF:
  • Learning, Reading, Writing and Numeracy at Pre Level 1
  • Learning, Reading and Numeracy at Level 1.

Target audience

This task is appropriate for a range of workplaces.

Content coverage

This task covers knowledge around using calendars.As with a number of tasks at these low levels the stimulus can remain the same and the level of task complexity can alter by setting more difficult questions.You can replace the calendar with a more appropriate month, year etc and alter the questions for relevance.

Instructions to assessor

Tasks at this level need to be delivered orally.It is important that the candidate understands this type of text layout, and its purpose. The task includes assessments at both Pre Level 1 and Level 1.Remember to adjust the level of support you provide for the different levels.Less support would be appropriate for questions 8, 9 and 10 compared with questions 1 – 7.
It would be ideal to use an authentic calendar and words written on cards for question 5.
