RE: UPCOMING MAJOR WORKS TO GLOUCESTER TERRACE (S147)

I would like to update you on our plans to carry out major works to your block.

I am pleased to confirm that we are scheduled to go out to tender in the latter part of July 2017, to find a suitable contractor to carry out the works.

We will be carrying out works to 34 street property blocks at 204-210 and 214-272 Gloucester Terrace. Please note that the works vary from block to block and certain elements of works may not be carried out to your block.

We are proposing to carry out the following works:

  • New roof covering and insulation
  • Overhaul of timber windows
  • Internal redecorations to the walls, timberwork and ceilings with a

Class "0" paint system

  • External redecorations to all previously decorated surfaces
  • Install new / upgrade fire rated compartment doors within common areas
  • Install new floor coverings to hallways and stairs
  • Install an audio door entry system from front door to individual flats
  • Install an emergency lighting system to the common areas
  • Install a fire detection system to the common areas linked to a detector

within each flat

  • Clean all rainwater pipes and gutters
  • Repairs to the front boundary railings and gates and to the rear garages

CityWest Homes are committed to involving residents in the process of selecting contractors involved in major works schemes as we consider that residents have valuable expertise in customer care and communication.

We will be in touch shortly and invite residents to participate in the evaluation of the tenders we receive for the works. Ideally we would like between 3-5 volunteers. Volunteers will evaluate the section of the contractors’ response about how they communicate with residents whilst they are working on the project.

Once the tender process is complete, we will be able to notify leaseholders of estimated costs. We will then be able to write to all residents to confirm who the contractor is and invite you to meet with them and the project team to find out more details about the works and how they will affect you.
