Dear Mr Hunt

Re: - Request for Information - Commercial terms of Etihad Stadium rental by Manchester City - reference number SOL/A33E8J

Thank you for your request for information, which was received by Manchester City Council on 7th October 2015 and has been considered under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the 2000 Act”). Please accept my apologies for the delay which was a result of an oversight.

You asked:

1. What is the basic annual rent paid by MCFC?

2. Is there any variable payment based on MCFC performance (on field or financially)?

3. Who pays the following match day overheads, the Council (by dint of costs being included in the annual rent) or MCFC:

3.1 Stewarding and security

3.2 Police costs

3.3 Pitch maintenance and preparation for matches

3.4 Ticket sales (staff and equipment)

3.5 Stadium cleaning

4. . What share of profit from sales is retained by MCFC in respect of

- matchday catering for "normal" fans

- corporate hospitality in lounges and executive boxes

5. Does the annual rental include any ancillary office and commercial space in the stadium occupied by MCFC? If so please list this and show total sq. metres of space for each element.

In response to your request, please find my response below:

1.The following table details the basic rent paid by MCFC for the most recent financial year, Apr 14 – Mar 15.

2.Yes. There are variable payments made dependent on the clubs participation and performance in European Competition. Additional rental income associated with the clubs participation in the Champions League for the 2014/15 financial year is detailed in the above table.

3.MCFC.

4.Information not held by Manchester City Council

5.The lease of the Etihad Stadium to Manchester City Football Club enables the club to utilise all space in the stadium for a range of commercial and community uses. The rental agreement does not separate out rents associated with individual areas of the stadium.
