Re: Issuance of Tag Bags for new Print on Demand 30-day Tags

The new Print On Demand 30-day tags will be used beginning May 8, 2012. The current cardboard 30-day tags will no longer be authorized to be issued in the State of Kansas after May 13, 2012. In order to prepare for the change, dealerships will have requirements to accomplish prior to beginning the new process.

Each dealership will be issued an initial supply of tag bags. The number of tag bags you will be issued can be found at the bottom of this letter. To receive the tag bags, report to your county treasurer’s office with this letter in hand and provide the county with your PIN number for the Dealer Web Portal written in the space provided below. This is the PIN number you were provided by e-mail from KDOR after you watched online tutorials and submitted the online survey. If your dealership has not performed this requirement yet, you need to do so to issue print on demand permits. For more information on how to sign up for the Dealer Web Portal please go to for more information. You may pick up tag bags from your county treasurer’s office through June 1, 2012. After that date, all tag bags must be ordered through the Dealer Licensing Bureau.

Your dealership is authorized #### tag bags. My PIN number is: ______

After you receive your initial order of tag bags from your county treasurer’s office, you need to contact the Dealer Licensing Bureau for future orders of tag bags. You can do so by e-mailing our office at and requesting the amount of tag bags you need. The tag bags are provided to your dealership at no charge. You will be charged for the permits you issue through the dealer online portal. The cost per permit remains at $3.00 each.

All cardboard thirty day tags are required to be turned in for credit to your account. Any credit may be applied to paper manual transactions with KDOR but the credit will not be available for any online portal transactions, including print on demand 30-day tags. To ensure timely credit is applied, all cardboard tags must be returned to KDOR no later than June 1, 2012. KDOR will accept tags through any mailing service.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact the Dealer Licensing Bureau at 785-296-3621, option 4.
