Re: Insurance Association of the Ozarks
Board Meeting

Angie Gibson called a Board Meeting, which was held at Corky's Barbecue on North Glenstone. Meeting called to order at 5:41 pm.

Those in attendance were: Angie Gibson, Donna Allen, Marilyn Foster, Sue McCrory, Gary Spurrier, John Patton, Verna McBride, Nantha Gilmore, and Josette Tilley.

Verna McBride will help to channel items for the newsletter to Sue McCrory who will put it on our web site and send it to members who have email but not Internet access. For those members who have neither email nor Internet, they will receive a printed copy of the newsletter. The decision to go this way was to save postage, paper, and save many volunteer hours it takes to send out the newsletter. Josette Tilley will send her minutes directly to Sue and Angie Gibson will send her monthly column directly to Sue. Verna McBride will be responsible for current events, meeting dates, places, and fillers. Nantha Gilmore reminded the group that a copy of the newsletter must go to the national organization (NAIW), as well as our state director, vice president, and a copy to each Missouri chapter president.

Angie Gibson will confirm with St. Louis Bread Company concerning July's monthly meeting. She also mentioned that the picnic cannot be held at Phelps Grove Park because it is already booked, but we can have it at Fassnight, near Parkview High School. There is a $25 fee to reserve a place at the park. Janet Nothnagel furnished Angie a list of caterers: Melissa Helbig (chicken salad); Blimpie's, Subway, Wal-Mart, Dillon's (these 4 places could do subs). Sue McCrory mentioned that her husband has used Catering by Stacy. She will check to see what she charges.

Angie mentioned that we need to send a check for $150 to SMSU to be our sponsor's fee for Insurance Day, which will be held October 18, at the University Plaza.

She reported that Claire Fenner is talking to employers to get money for the Regional Meeting.

Josette Tilley requested the biographical forms to update the directory. Extra forms will be brought to the July meeting.

Nantha Gilmore reported that the candles she had heard about on the radio as a fundraiser were called Enlightened, Inc. July will be a brainstorming meeting for fundraisers and Regional.

Donna Allen reported that we received a thank you letter from Ozark Burn Center - all 12 children were able to go to the burn camp this summer. We donated in May $375 to help a child go to the burn camp.

Meeting adjourned at 6:45 pm.
