Re: (Developing) MSI Consultant Teachers[2xNorth locality, 1xMidlands locality]

Dear candidate

Many thanks for showing an interest in this exciting role.

Working for Sense is hard work, fun and provides tremendous satisfaction.

In Sense professionals we look for a mixture of engagement (we love working with, supporting and helping a wide range of people), values (this role represents Sense to the wider community and is a role model to our local staff) and positive tenacity (we don’t give up).

We are looking for 3 enthusiastic Mandatory Qualified MSI teacher to join our North and Midlands locality teams. This will involve the post holder ensuring that opportunities to deliver our core offer will be maximised in order to champion the needs of deafblind children and their families. The role also involves the identification, securing and delivery of commissioned work with stakeholders who support deafblind/ children and young people with MSI on a statutory basis. These two aspects of the role will entail organisation and engagement in a wide range of activities with support from the wider team within Children’s Specialist Services.

This post will be integral to identify, support, advise and represent deafblind children, young people and their families. Reporting to the Children and Young People Services Manager for the North and Midlands localities, with professional support from the Deputy Head of CSS. The North locality team covers the Government office regions of Yorkshire and the Humber, North East and North West and the Midlands Locality team will cover the West Midlands, and Derbyshire.

We would be happy to explore flexible working arrangements, including home based working, job share or part-time expressions of interest. We would equally be interested to hear from you if you are looking to train as a Mandatory Qualified teacher if you have interest, experience and enthusiasm for working with young people who are deafblind/MSI.

The role is part of the national Children’s Specialist Services team; it is a great service so you will get support and guidance but will also be expected to contribute to the national plans and deliver to targets.

Still interested?

If it is not clear already this is a key role which could provide a lot of satisfaction in helping children, young people and their families to develop, achieve and make the most of their lives.

We look forward to reading your application a one page written application outlining how you meet the person specification. The closing date for this position is Friday 5th December 2014 at 12 noon. Interviews are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 16th December in Birmingham.

Best of luck

Yours

Steve Rose
