The Club Safeguarding Officer is a very important role for ourjunior netball clubs. By designating a person you are making a clear statement about the importance of the welfare of young people in your club. If you don’t already have a CSO, please could you appoint someone as soon as possible.

The CSO should be someone who has a child centred approach and is willing to attend Timeto Listen Training which was rolled out September 2010. They willdeal with safeguarding and child protection issues that may arise in your club in accordance with the England Netball Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Netball Policy, procedures and guidelines. In addition they will be a key contact for us at England Netball to be able to communicate directly to them the latest safeguarding news and key updates for your club.England netball safeguarding department will give the CSOs all the guidance and resources needed to help them fulfil their duties and ensure your club complies with all relevant legislation too. The CSO will be required to have an enhanced CRBdisclosure with England Netball.
