RE: Call for Nominations —2016-17CAPF governing Council

In November 2016, threeCouncillor and the Vice-President (VP)positions on the current CAPF governing Council will become vacant. Council members are elected for a two-year term. The Vice-President position is a three-year commitmenton the Executive Standing Committee- cycling through one-year terms as VP(responsible for Finance Chair), President and Past-President (responsible for Nominating Chair). Depending on timing of legislative change, to affect the planned merger of Colleges (CAPF and CAPFT), the overall length of Council appointments may vary.

Nominations for the vacant positions have been sought by the Nominating Committee. Only the following individuals have agreed to let their names stand for the 2016-2017governing Council:

Councillor: / Currently no one has indicated to the Nominating Chair a commitment to let their name stand for Councillor; so Council defaults to membership for nominations.

Further nominations from the general membership are being called for at this time. According to the CAPF Bylaws, five or more voting members may nominate an RPF to any of the vacant positions on Council (i.e., Councillor or VP). The nomination must be in writing, signed by five voting members and received by the Registrar by no later than midnight Thursday15Sep2016. Any nominee is asked to attach a short biographybriefly outlining:relevant past and current work experience, as well as, an overview of previous College involvementand his/herkey interests in running for Council - including a vision of future College priorities (maximum 500 words).

Should nominations for vacant Councillorpositions exceed the number of vacancies,there will be an automatic electronic VOTEinitiatedat least 30 days priorto the scheduled 04Nov2016joint AGM business meeting being held in Edmonton.
