The duration of the semi-final games is 4 x 5 minutes, with 2 minute break periods. Games have been scheduled 50 minutes apart.

PLAYING SCHEDULE:

The playing schedule of the semi final pools is attached. With so many teams involved, it is important that this playing schedule is not altered. For those teams that have been involved in Championships semi finals in the past, you will notice that all teams will now play matches over both days. This is following discussions with some of the teams and the BUCS Water Polo management group, who have identified that playing three competitive matches in one day was not popular and did not allow adequate recovery time between matches. As you will see in the attached playing schedule, group one will now play two matches on the Saturday and one on the Sunday, with group two playing one match on the Saturday and two on the Sunday.

EQUIPMENT & KIT:

Teams should ensure that they take the following equipment to the competition:

  • Competition & warm up Water Polo balls
  • Two full sets of Caps (Blue & White)
  • Whistle
  • All appropriate playing kit (long trunks & goggles are not permitted)

TEAM DECLARATION:

Teams are asked to declare their squad of 16 on the attached form, obtain a signature from their Athletic Union/ Sports Office and e-mail it to the BUCS Office – The original should be taken to the semifinal venue for proof if required. Please note that if you fail to submit a copy of the form to BUCS and there are any queries regarding your team’s eligibility then it may result in your team being disqualified.

Please note that you MUST then declare your team PRIOR to each match at the semi finals.

REFEREES:

The BUCS office has arranged the ASA referees.

POINTS & QUALIFIERS
  • Qualifiers - Two teams will qualify for the Finals, and these teams will be the highest point scorers.
