Re: Autumn Term 2012: Week 3 briefing

It has been a smooth, calm and trouble free start to the new Autumn term. I am sure that that is due to all the time effort and commitment that staff have put into preparing for the return of the children from their Summer holiday so thank you.

This week’s briefing includes the following:

-  News, updates and reminders.

-  Briefing for Autumn Term Week 3

-  Advance notice of important events in Autumn Week 4

-  Minutes of the Leadership Team meeting of Monday 3rd September

-  Staff list for 2012/13

News, Reminders and Updates:

Weekly Briefings:

The weekly briefing is one of our main sources of communication and information. All staff should make every effort to read it at their earliest opportunity every Thursday during term time.

Remember that the briefing is posted on the school web site and is no longer put into pigeon holes.

The briefing can be accessed online by following:

http://westminsterschool.co.uk – LOG ON!!! - - Noticeboards (at top of screen) – Staff Noticeboard (on drop down menu) – click on briefing of your choice.

Staff List:

Find attached an up to date (I hope!) staff list. This is the list which had a page missing in our Monday briefing at the start of term.

Geoff is busy preparing a staff contact list which will be kept in the school office. Please help him to make this as up to date as possible by giving him your email address and mobile/telephone number if requested. It is important that we have this information in case of need or emergency. This information will be used to compile the Snow Tree which is the means by which we keep staff informed of closure in bad weather.

08.30 start:

Please can we make a concerted effort to encourage children to be at school ready to enter when doors open at 08.30 rather than arriving just as doors close at 08.40. This will help ensure a smooth and prompt start to the day.

Parents were asked to support us in this through a recent letter sent out at the start of term.

Arriving for 08.30 means lessons can start on time at 08.40 with a minimum of disruption.

Display Evening:

Early each term we hold a display evening when staff put up displays in corridors, the hall and stair wells. On this occasion our display evening will be held after school on Thursday 18th September. A buffet meal will be provided as usual. Please gather together items for display ready to go straight up onto the walls on Thursday.

If you have any queries regarding this speak to our Display Co-ordinators, Pat and Linda.
