2. Introduction

BP is currently offering for sale a used Rolls Royce type RB211 type 24C Industrial Gas Turbine Engine. The engine is currently on location on BP’s Miller platform in the North Sea, being utilisedfor electrical power generation. The engine continued in operation up until December 2009when power was turned off.

With the Miller Platform in a decommissioning phasethe Engine will be removed in January 2010.

This document outlines the history of the engine, its current condition and the proposed timetable for this sale.

  1. The Engine

3.1General: The engine is an RB211 type 24C Industrial Dual Fuel Gas Generator serial number 1750B-206. The engine has run 72073 hours total with2145 starts total; and 2674hours with487 starts since last overhaulin May 2007. The engine has been run on natural gas approximately 95% of the time, the remainder on diesel.

3.2History:The engine was fitted new into BP’s Miller platform in the North Sea in January 1990. It was maintained offshore by a Core Crew including Rolls Royce Field Engineers; overhauls of the engine were carried out onshore by Rolls Wood Group. It is a standard industrial engine that has been used to drive an RT56 Power Turbine and alternator delivering typically 6-12MW.

3.3Recent Overhaul History: The engine was removed in Oct 2006 and examined in December 2006. RWG received the engine at their workshops in Feb 2007 for overhaul; the unit was subsequently re-installed on the platform in May 2007 showing 69,399 hours and 1658 starts. In Jan 2008 the engine was returned to RWG for investigation of high lub oil consumption and re-installed on the platform in Feb 2008.

3.4Inclusions: Documentation includes the Log Books, Overhaul Reports.

3.5Exclusions: The engine itself is complete. The Power Turbine RT56 is still located on the Miller Platform and is NOT included in the sale. Transport Cradle and Storage Bag are NOT included in the sale.

3.6Location of Engine:

The engine is currently located in the North Sea on the BP Miller Platform. The Engine will be available for viewing at:

4Conditions of Sale

4.1The sale of the engine will be by online Auction via the BP Ariba eSourcing Platform.

4.2Bids for the engine will only be accepted via the online Auction from Bidders who are Registered on the Ariba eSourcing Platform.

4.3Interested Parties intending to Bid must contact the undersigned in order to ensure Registration.

4.4All bids must be in United Kingdom Pounds Sterling; bids should be valid for 30 days.

4.5The Customs Status of the engine is Free Circulation FCG.

4.6BP will invoice the buyer and the engine will be released when cleared payment is received in full from the buyer.

4.7VAT (17.5%) Value Added Tax will apply as appropriate.

4.8Theengine will be DELIVERED to the buyer under Incoterms 2000 FCA, Free Carrier- Unit G35, Wellheads Industrial Centre, Dyce

4.9All inspection, collection & transportation costs will be for the account of the buyer. The engine will be loaded onto the buyer’s transport as per 4.8 above.

4.10Whilst the information we have provided is to the best of our knowledge complete and accurate, the engine package is being sold as seen, and without warranty or guarantee. [Caveat Emptor].
