Rayne Youth girls 3
Coppleston Girls 0
Lack of numbers saw Rayne make some key positional changes and it was their regular goalkeeper Jamie-Lee Bamford, playing upfront for this game, who opened the scoring with a fine solo effort. This was followed by an own goal from Coppleston and a third clever shot from a tight angle from Lucy Williams. Special mention for Claudia Chitty who played in goal for the first time and kept a clean sheet and player of the match Maddy Arkwright who is improving in leaps and bounds.

A tough game for all the girls, the defence worked hard throughout and Jamie-Lee Bamford's goal keeper skills were outstanding, saving with dives, punches and great kicks. The attack had some unlucky misses with Lucy Williams and Katie Fuller keeping the pressure on.Rayne were unlucky not to score this week; a great team effort though.

After a goalless first half, Rayne finally made the pressure count with a calmly taken goal by Lucy Williams. This was soon followed by a fierce free kick from Millie Fowler giving Rayne a well deserved two-goal lead. The final few minutes saw Colchester gamely trying to get backinto the match but they were continuously thwarted by excellent defending from Isobel West.

COPLESTON GIRLS 1
RAYNE YOUTH GIRLS 4
Rayne conceded early in awful conditions but kicking with the wind they quickly asserted their superiority and Katie Fuller scored 4 times before the break. Rayne found kicking into the wind far tougher in the second half but fabulous defending from Amber Harris and player of the match Claudia Chitty saw them through comfortably.

RAYNE YOUTH GIRLS 2
COPLESTON GIRLS 0
Rayne dominated this game and could have won by several more than they did, however they were indebted to some great saves early on from keeper Jamie-Lee Bamford before they opened the scoring with a fabulous passing move that saw Millie Fowler convert Katie Fuller’s pin point pass. Katie Fuller then added two goals of her own in the second half and was unlucky not to get her hat trick.

The skill of both keepers and player of the match, Millie Fowler, looked like keeping it scoreless until Colchester scored from a corner with just minutes to go. In what was their first full match against girl-only opposition, Rayne Youth showed how far they had come in just 12 weeks. Rayne Girls competed in their first football festival at Clacton leisure centre. It was a 4 x 4 festival organized by the Essex FA specifically for u10s girls. Rayne took 4 girls, Jamie-lee Bamford, Lucy Williams, Millie Fowler and Katy Fuller.
The team played 5 games:
oColchester Villa 1, drew 2-2 - both goals by Lucy Williams,
oColchesterTown - lost 0-1
oHawkwell Claret & Blue - drew 3-3 – Goals from Katy Fuller (2) and Lucy Williams
oGreat Notley 1 - won 5-0, Lucy Williams (1), Jamie-lee Bamford (1) and Katy Fuller (3)
oGreat Notley 2 - won 6-1 - Jamie lee Bamford (4), Katy Fuller (1) and Millie Fowler (1) (who was superb in defense)
The girls grew in confidence as the games went on and eventually proved to be one of the strongest teams there. As their manager I could not have been prouder and they represented Rayne Youth in an exemplary way. All four girls were a credit to our club.
