Modular Emergency Response Radiological Transportation Train-the-Trainer

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, through the U.S. Department of Energy’s Transportation Emergency Preparedness Program (TEPP) will present the Modular Emergency Response Radiological Transportation Training (MERRTT) Train-the-Trainer program.

Course Overview: The MERRTT T-t-T two-day, 16-hour, program includes classroom session and hands-on practical exercises. The program was developed as a nationwide program to ensure training consistency in responding to transportation incidents involving radioactive material. MERRTT is designed to provide emergency responders with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to respond with confidence to incidents involving radioactive material.

Target Audience: Fire/Rescue/HAZMAT personnel, Law Enforcement officers, EMS, Hospital emergency preparedness staff and Emergency Management staff are encouraged to attend the training.

MERRTT is listed as an approved training course with the Department of Homeland Security.

Application Process: There is no cost for the course. All travel, lodging and meal expenses will be the responsibility of the attendee.
