Ramsey County Winscribe QSR Client Install

Pre-requisites:

SQL Server Client Compact 4.0

Microsoft .NET 4.0

Microsoft Visual C++ for Visual Studio 2012 Update 3 or higher - (\\hswinscribe\WinScribeShare\Software\Winscribe QSR\Client PC Install Files)

Software Location:

Philips Drivers (2 – PhilipsSpeechDrivers.exe and SpMikeCtrl.exe)

RSDK.config.ini

Winscribe QSR Shortcut

Installation:

  1. Install the Philips Speech Mic Drivers in no particular order.

  1. PhilipsSpeechDriversSetup.exe or PhilipsSpeechDrivers64Setup.exe
  2. SpMikeCtrl.msi or SpMikeCtrl64.msi
  3. On 64bit OS’s, use the specified 64 bit drivers, 32 bit os use the drivers without the 64.
  1. Install the QSR Client 32 or 64 bit depending on the OS using the .exe insptaller and not the MSI (\\hswinscribe\WinScribeShare\Software\Winscribe QSR\Client PC Install Files\QSR Client)
  2. Run the Setup.exe file and select Accept and Install

Click Next through the Destination Folder

Replace the SERVERNAME with localhost net.tcp://localhost:8086/RcgServer

Then click Next and Install and then Finish when install is completed.

  1. Run the QSR Post Install.bat file, or follow Steps 5 and 6. Verify this step by browsing to the following location and see the RSDK.config.ini – C:\ProgramData\RSDK
  1. (Optional if step 4 does not work) Copy, Past , and Overwrite the RSDK.config.ini file to the following Directory - C:\ProgramData\RSDK

OR

Edit the RSDK.config.ini file and then copy and paste all the data in the existing file, save and close. (The text to copy and paste into RSDK.config.ini file is at the end of this document)

  1. (Optional) Copy and paste the Winscribe QSR Client Shortcut over the existing one. This specified the license server in the shortcut.
  2. (Optional) Also you may add the user’s login information tof QSR to the shortcut as well so they do not have to enter credentials each time. –user:, -password:

Example:-user:winscribe –password:winscribe

  1. Restart the RSDKService in windows services. Go to Start – Run, Enter services.msc in the Run window. Browse to the RSDKService and restart.
  2. Open QSR Client and login. May have to login a couple of times as first attempt or two may fail.

RSDK Configini

  1. Go to C:\ProgramData\RSDK and open RSDK.config.ini in notepad – itshouldlikethis:
  2. The green box at the bottom shows the front-end remote node you would have entered when you installed QSR Client. Update this with localhost.
  3. The red box shows the connection to the WSR database which is not configured as QSR Client does not ask for this during installation.
    Update as follows:
    RSDKCENTRALDBMS=enter name of the SQL server or instance hosting the WSR database
    RSDKCENTRALDBNAME=enter name of your WSR database
    RSDKCENTRALDBLOGONUSER=enter username for accessing WSR database
    RSDKCENTRALDBLOGONPASSWORD=enter password for accessing WSR database, you need to enter “set:PASSWORD” without quotes and the actual password
  4. Save the file so that the RSDK Service can encrypt the SQL password
  5. Go to C:\Program Files\winscribe\Winscribe QSR and run the Management Console
