January 28, 2008 (Rio de Janeiro, brazil):Lisa Marie Urgo formerly Lisa Mulready of Brecksville, Ohio (1978 graduate of BHS) and current resident of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; was awarded the Ralph Greenberg award for outstanding community service. The selection of the Ralph Greenberg award was announced at a meeting of the Rio de Janeiro chapter of the American Society on Friday, January 26th. Ms. Urgo was recognized for her charitable works on behalf of Brazil’s street children population.

Lisa Marie Urgo left New York City for Rio de Janeiro in 2000, after retiring from a long career in the music industry where she represented primarily Brazilian musicians; subsequently cultivating her love for Brazil. Her desire to help the many impoverished youth that she saw all over the city culminated in her founding the American 501c3 Charity Dreams Can Be Foundation and the Brazilian NGO Dreams Brasil. Lisa recruited her friends for the cause and eventually contracted a small staff to help her. Today the foundation is focused primarily on small programs located in the neediest communities and run by local community leaders. These are programs most International funders overlook.

Lisa is the daughter of Thomas Mulready and the late Alice Mulready most recently of Brecksville, Ohio and Boynton Beach, Florida.

Today Lisa spends her free time lobbying friends and former business colleagues and different entertainment personalities to rally to her cause. Lisa is also the proud and busy mother of two adopted Brazilian children 14 year-old Tamires and 8 year-old Wellington.
