6. BRIEF RESUME OF THE INTENDED WORK :

6.1

1  NEED FOR THE STUDY :

Rasa Shastra is a branch of learning ayurveda pharmaceutics, specially dealing with the minerals, metals, precious stones, certain poisonous herbs and their processing. They are very potent in eliminating dreadful diseases and also for rejuvenating purposes

Due to their small dose, quick effectiveness, tastelessness, on dreadful diseases and long shelf life rasa aushdhiya are considered superior in Ayurvedic treatment3

The current trend in applied medical research encourages good manufacturing product and good clinical practice, which is based on drug analysis the main aim of analytical study is to find out working standards for the formulations and safe use of therapeutics 4

Swar prasadaka Rasa1,2 is the preparation mentioned in Brihat Rasa Raj Sundar in Swarbhedadhikara which is easy to prepare and unexplored preparation

Hence the topic entitled “PHARMACEUTICO-ANALYTICAL STUDY OF SWAR PRASADAKA RAS”

6.2 REVIEW OF LITERATURE:

Ø  Detail information regarding swar prasadaka ras1,2, its ingredients, will be reviewed

Ø  Information regarding necessary analytical study will be reviewed.

6.3 OBJECTIVES OF THE SUTDY

  1. To compile about swar prasadaka ras1,2 from the classical texts of Rasa Shatra
  1. To carry out analytical study of swar prasadaka ras1,2
  1. To prepare swar prasadaka ras1,2 as mentioned in Rasa Raj Sundar

7. MATERIALS AND METHODS :

7.1 SOURCE OF DATA :

  1. Required genuine raw materials will be collected from recognized authentic sources.
  1. Necessary processing of raw materials and preparation of swar prasadaka ras1,2 will be done in pharmacy section of Post Graduate Department of Rasashastra at Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Ayurvedic Medical College And PG centre Gajendragad
  1. Basic Analytical studies will be done in the laboratory, Post Graduate Department of Rasashastra at Bhagawan Magaveer Jain Ayurvedic Medical College and PG centre Gajendragad and other related Analytical studies will be done with assistance of accredited laboratories

7.2 METHODS OF COLLECTION OF DATA :

  1. Literary study :

·  Data will be collected for rasa prasadaka ras1,2 and its ingredients from relevant classical texts

  1. Pharmaceutical study :

·  Extraction of parada from Hingula will be done as per the reference in sharangdhar samhita5

·  Gandhaka shodhana will be done as per the reference in Rasa Ratna Sammucchaya6

·  Shodhana of hartala will be done as per the reference in Rasa Prakash Sudhakar7

·  Shodhana of manashila will be done as per the reference in Ayurveda Prakasha8

Preparation of Swar Prasadaka Ras1,2

·  Ingredients :- Shodhita Parada, shodhita Gandhaka, Shodhita Hartala, Shodhita Manashila. Equal parts

·  Method of preparation :- Above ingredients will be triturated with konkola jal for 3days. Later one gajaputa will be given to the mixture on cooling the mixture will be triturated with sharpunkha swarasa for 3days
