RainbowPre-School Committee

As a registered charity, Rainbow is run by a parent elected committee in co-operation with our

Pre-School leader Mrs Anne Mansfield-Smith.

The committee consists of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and a number of general members. Like you we are all parents with children attending the school, so we all benefit from what we do

and without the committee, Rainbow could not run.

The main function of the committee is fundraising. We organise a number of events and activities throughout the year and with the enormous generosity of those who participate, these have all

been very successful.

An example of some of the recent events and activities we have held:

Art and Craft mornings – held during half-term

Treasure Trail around the park – held during Easter holidays

Barnardos ½ mile walk – held during Whitsun half- term

Summer Fete and Christmas Bazaar

The organising of events and activities is shared amongst the committee members, from preparing and helping out on the day, to arranging raffle prizes and selling tickets.

We also ask the help of the parents from time to time with particular events, such as making and buying cakes during our popular “Cake Week”, to buying raffle tickets on certain occasions and also ask for their fundraising ideas.

All of the money raised goes straight to the Pre-School, where it is used and needed in a number of different areas.

From the up-keep of the premises, i.e. shutters, guttering, carpets, repairs and maintenance.

To equipment for the children to use, i.e.inside and outside toys, computers, books, cooking tools.

A monthly newsletter is given out to parents, to inform them of what is going on in the school during the month and any extra items we think maybe of interest.

We are always looking for new members, it can take as much or a little of your time as you can afford.

We have a meeting every 6 weeks in the evening at the Pre-School.
