WGNS FAOF 2017 Raffle
Raffle item: Red Mohair Ruana, Shawl Pin
Weaver: Nancy Herzog; Jeweler: Virginia Reisner
Donors: Jeanne Reed, Virginia Reisner
Everyone’s help is needed to sell raffle tickets! Here’s how you can help:
- Sell Tickets for $1 apiece, $5 for a packet of six tickets.
- Have the participant fill out the right half of the ticket with his or her name and phone number. (Legibly please; it might be the only contact info on the winner.)
- Separate the two halves of the ticket.
- Return the“name and phone” portions with the money you have collected to: Carrie Dauner, either at the October Guild meeting, by mail (9217 Ewing Ave #2, Evanston, IL 60203), or at the Garden before the Show begins. If you bring your stubs and money to the Garden, please put themoney in an envelope labeled “WGNS Raffle” and seal it. If you do this, we collect 100% of the profits from the ticket sales. If you do not, we are obliged to give the Garden 10% of our profits on the ticket sales. Put the stubs in the container at the raffle table.
Any checks should be made out to ‘WGNS’ with ‘Raffle’ in the memo line. More tickets will be available at the October meeting. You may also send a self-addressed, stamped business-size envelope to me and I will send you more tickets. A first-class stamp on the business envelope will cover 3 booklets of tickets; use more postage for more booklets. If you need more than that (hooray!), call me (847-763-1018) to work out the postage needs and make arrangements to get more tickets to you. Again, all proceeds from tickets sold before the Show return 100% to the Guild. Tickets sold at the Show return only 90% to the Guild. So sell before the Show! If you find that you have unsold tickets, please return them to Carrie before the Show or at the Show setup since extras will be needed at the Raffle table during the Show.
Our goal is to raise $1500 through the raffle. That’s about 5 booklets or $25 per member. You can do that! Maybe more! So let’s get out there and sell those tickets to make this the successful raffle it can be! THANKS!
“Who can I sell them to?” or “Where should I sell them?” Glad you asked! Here are a few starting suggestions: Buy them yourself – you deserve a chance to own the prize too, you know! Sell them to friends, family, and neighbors – haven’t you been supporting their activities and their children’s activities when they ask? Take the tickets to work, church/temple, and other groups to which you belong – no doubt there are people in these venues who appreciate fine handwovens and would be happy to support a worthy organization likeours. The possibilities are endless . . . .
